August Update #1
My time spent giving service in the infirmary for our elderly sisters in New
Jersey was certainly blessed! I got to work, play, and pray with our senior
sisters, who are such wisdom figures for us. They are often very sweet, too.
One time one of them, who has dementia, was making noises and talking
incoherently in a tone of some urgency during Mass. When I thought
that she was disturbing the others, I went over to her and placed my hand on
hers to soothe her. She stopped her babbling, looked me right in the eye, and
said, "I love you!" To which I responded: "I love you, too,
sister. But we're in Mass now, so you need to be quiet." She was peaceful
for the rest of the time.
