Thanksgiving Break

The sisters that I live with and I went to Enfield, Connecticut to our central convent there. We helped at the annual Pre-Christmas Sale, selling items and talking to the customers. There was Polish food, Christmas presents, and an auction to raise money for our elderly sisters. I worked at the religious goods table, selling statues and paintings of the saints.

For Thanksgiving, we went to visit our families. I was in New Jersey for the weekend and had a lovely time visiting. The drive was pretty long, and the traffic made it longer, but that was even relaxing to a degree. It was nice to have time alone in the car. So overall, a great holiday weekend. Now it's time to go back to school!

On a New Journey

Now I have several more days of vacation, during which I will be taking care of practical matters. I need to go to doctor's appointments for check-ups and go through presents that I have received to determine what I am taking with me to New Hampshire. I am grateful, too, that I have more time to spend with family and friends. On Friday I return to Lodi, where I need to re-pack, so that on Saturday I am ready to make the drive up to my new convent. We are stopping in Enfield to pick up more luggage on the way! This is an exciting, positive, and Spirit-filled time in my life!

Welcome to our Grace-filled Days

The novitiate had their monthly holy hour on the Thursday before first Friday. We take turns writing the prayer service and creating the ambience in chapel. This month, it was the first-year novice, Sr. Heather Marie's, turn. Her Holy Hour with the Saints was inspirational and reflective, with time for silent contemplation, music, and prayers from the saints.
