September Update

We are in full swing at school, and things are certainly swinging! I teach Reading and Religion to three fourth grades, each with about 30 kids in the class. On top of the teaching, anytime I collect a paper it's 90 papers, and when they are graded they need to go on the computer. There's never a dull moment! We're getting used to each other, getting into a routine and delving into the textbooks. I am giving my first tests this coming week.

We had a gift from God this week; the maintenance men here washed the carpeting in our house. That means less house duties this weekend, and I am not the only one who is relieved by that. It was a nice break. I was able to make today a real day off; the school week left me tired.

I learned how to do a tornado drill so I could teach the kids. Being from the east coast, I didn't really know anything about it, so I found out, and we did a practice drill on Friday. We had our first tornado warning the other day, due to high winds, so I guess I really am in the mid west now!
