Just the beginning ...

I began my apostolic experience in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. I am living and going to ministry with three Felician sisters, joining them for community life and ministering to the people with them. They work at a school, Perth Amboy Catholic. I do a variety of tasks at this school. I have done some clerical and office work. I teach French to the 8th graders who are interested in taking French in high school. I am a kindergarten aid twice a week. I have also helped in the pre-K3 class one day. Too, I go to a local Catholic high school to help there once a week.

The sisters that I am living and working with are kind and down-to-earth. They are devoted to the school, to the students, and to the Lord. One of them is the principal, another is the librarian, and the third helps in the office.

I was invited to share my vocation story to the youth group at my home parish. This is the youth group that I was a part of as a teenager; my former youth minister is still there! It was like coming full-circle. The sharing was well-received and it was great to see an old friend again. Since I was in town, I also visited my family that day. We had a nice dinner, where we got to talk and catch up. It was a blessed day!
