November News

We celebrated my Halloween birthday as a house. We went out to dinner to a local Thai restaurant that I like alot. Then we rented a movie, because there wasn't anything good playing at the theaters here. We watched Mama Mia and thoroughly enjoyed it.
After I came back from New York, I had an unexpected two days off! Hurricane Sandy did not hit us as hard as she did other places, but we got the wind and rain. It was nice to have the time off, but I was worried about my family in New Jersey who were out power for almost a week. They have it back now.
We ended the first marking period with a puppet play about Charlotte's Web that went very well! I was really encouraged to see my students work together to put on a fine performance for the younger grades. They often argue with each other and they put all that aside to cooperate. We also finished our Social Studies project about the president of their choice. We had a mock election in school that was very close; the kids got into it.
