Sr. Grace in Livonia, MI

I am having my second apostolic experience, where I get to be active in ministries and in local communities of the sisters. Currently I am in Livonia, Michigan, near Detroit, where I am spending time in different departments of the university. I spent three days in the Advancement/Alum office, meeting people who reach out to friends and alumni of the college through events and mailings. One day I packed 168 yellow bags for the graduate fair that is coming up! I learned about how to write grants, plan events, and about long-term giving and major gifts to the university. I enjoyed visiting the library and being able to ask the director of the library questions. Soon I will see her teach a class about information literacy!

I attended the Rainbow Conference here with Sr. Monica, a temporary professed sister. Rainbow is for teenagers, mostly in youth groups and parishes, who come for the speaker, music, and other fun events. We set up a table about the Felician Sisters and gave away fun items like sunglasses, change purses, and stickers. The sunglasses were the most popular by far! There were also some young women who had sincere questions and interest in religious life in general and the Felicians specifically.
